How to work out a plot's price
- 1Enter the plot size in marla.
- 2Choose the marla standard and whether the rate is per marla or per square foot.
- 3Enter the rate.
- 4Read the total price and the equivalent price per square foot.
Plot price formula
- 01Square feet = marla × marla size (272.25 or 225)
- 02Per marla: total = marla × rate
- 03Per square foot: total = square feet × rate
- 04Price per sq ft = total ÷ square feet
Plots in Pakistan are usually priced either as a lump sum per marla or as a rate per square foot. To compare two plots fairly, convert both to a price per square foot: a plot quoted per marla is the marla rate divided by the marla size (272.25 or 225 sq ft).
Because the two marla standards differ, the same per-marla price is a different price per square foot depending on the standard — so always know which marla your plot uses before comparing.
Plot price example
5 marla at 2,500,000 per marla is 12,500,000.
That works out to 9,182.74 per square foot.
Good to know
- Convert every plot to a price per square foot to compare them fairly.
- Corner, main-road and park-facing plots usually carry a premium over the base rate.
- The marla standard (272.25 vs 225 sq ft) changes the price-per-sq-ft, so confirm it first.
Plot price calculator — common questions
How do I calculate a plot's price?
Multiply the size in marla by the rate per marla, or the size in square feet by the rate per square foot. This calculator does both and shows the price per square foot.
How do I compare two plots with different rates?
Convert both to a price per square foot. A per-marla rate is divided by the marla size (272.25 or 225 sq ft) to get it.
Why does the marla standard matter for price?
A revenue marla (272.25 sq ft) is bigger than a scheme marla (225 sq ft), so the same per-marla price is a lower price per square foot for the revenue marla.
